Episode 2 - Acceleration Through Impact

All I’m saying is, every “good” or or better golf shot, from drive to putt, has one thing in common: acceleration through impact. Through impact.

“A house divided against itself cannot stand." Abraham Lincoln said this under the spectre of national crisis. I’m just talking about doubting yourself in a golf swing. Doubt raises fear, which divides players against their own plans…that can’t be right…why does it look good here, but not when I stand over the ball? What did this do last time…where did my target go? If you embrace the obstacle—giving yourself a place to be frustrated until you solve the puzzle is crucial to any confidence-building process.

The feeling of committing to yourself is exhilarating, and the results of committed action when you putting is even more exciting…plus, if they aren’t what you want—yet—then at least if you stuck with your plan, it is USEFUL DATA.  This data can be used as you set up and consistently accelerate with your NEXT putt, and so on. The alternative is even harder: wasted time. You made a plan, then that little bit of doubt crept in and made you adjust. Unhappy result, AND you don’t know if your plan would have worked

We made GolfWords to be more fun than frustration. It is not a “hard” game to play…It could be nice to have a simple, fun way to practice letting yourself be great -and focused putting with acceleration through impact can be one of those; That, is all I’m saying.
